Assalamualaikum...

dah lama gak tak tulis pape kan, dalam blog nih..

m lebih nak jadikan blog ni notebook online m.. 

nak jadikan diari tak leh..bahaya!

hahahaha

i think i've said it before.. but i dont mind saying it again...

idea tu banyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak!!

nak membuatnya tu kurang masa....

nak kata takde masa tu salah... sebab masa tu ada...

betul tak effa?!!!

tapi effa tak tau pun pasal blog ni!

i was talking about soaping... kurang masa dan kurang resources..

....

ok tukar topik..

m rasa cam sabun ni leh dibuat daripada apa-apa sahaja...

maksud m bahan pelarutnya... 

selain air..

m dah guna santan kelapa dari awal.. 

pastu m guna dragonfruit yang di blend.. 

pastu air.. 

pastu m guna kacang merah campur air..sebab pekat sangat 'lye' tu susah nak larut. 

daun pandan campur air pun dah..

untuk scrub efek dah guna kacang, kulit manggis, dragonfruit yg diblend, 

sabun kacang merah pun m rasa ada kut scrub efek dia, walaupun sedikit..

....

effa nak kawin bulan 6 ni. 

so m ingat nak bagi dia wedding present..

apa lagi?! 

sabun m laaa..

ramai kawan/sedara dok tanya.. 

bukan min tak nak bagi.. 

nak jumpa korang pun susah.. 

bila jumpa/ada depan mata, terlupa lak.. tak teringat.. 

alasan2 yang klise gitewwww.

maaaaffffff!!

nak jual, m tak reti nak kira costing lagi.. 

kang termahal lak kan.. 

kena tembak@marah lak kang!

tapi Essential Oil memang mahal kay.. 

m nya soaps so far samada unfragranced atau with EO. 

fragrance oil m ada, tapi kurang berminat nak guna on my soaps.. 

yes, i might rethink this in the years to come but not yet..

i kinda like using EO's in my soaps..

nanti kalau jumpa m kat umah, terus mintak laaa...

insyaAllah kalau sabun tu ada banyak lagi, m bagi laa..

most of my soaps m wat dalam 8 bars je.. 

limited.. (kalau m potong 2 lagi, dapatlaa 16 small bars..)

so tak leh laa nak bagi kalau dah tinggal satu dua.. 

sebabnya....

alaaa...

malu laa nak cakap...

m pun nak pakai...

hehehehe....

sabun ni sebenarnya kena continuously buat, sebab curing prosesnya lama..

i think i have an amount that should last for at least 3-5 mths lagi kut.. 

average seminggu hingga 2 minggu 1 bar... 

sebab min kerap mandi.. 

satu hari kalau hari kerja leh mandi 3 kali.. 

kalau cuti? fikir-fikirkan lah.. 

=)

sebab min kuat berpeluh...

tapi bab-bab estimation ni m memang lemah..

entah2 less than that..

ni nak tunjuk m nya soap collection haritu on Mar 14, 2012. 

dah upload dah kat facebook. 

sapa yang dah tengok tu tengoklah lagi skali naaa...

by now, i've added 2.. or was it 3 more soaps...

okay.

it might be slightly more than 5 months...

but i HAVE to make some more!!!

and i like making more!!

7th CP, another carbon but now with EO's!!

Assalamualaikum..

yes, this is the 7th CP soap made..!

my charcoal soap is finishing so I made one more, 

this time with nice EO's. 

Patchouli, Tea Tree and Lavender..

Patchouli and Tea Tree is said to be good on the skin.

i added lavender because i like lavender..

=)

i actually had to rebatch this because i had lye pockets..

can you see the white spots? 

when i cut it, there were holes with liquid coming out of it, 

i tested for lye and i got zapped!!

yup, i did the tongue-test

something i dont want to feel ever again if i can help it!

i actually burnt my tongue!

panicked!

gargled with water and it didnt feel better, 

put vinegar on the sore part of the tongue but it didnt work either.. 

it stung!!

i gargled with balsamic vinegar a few times and swallowed it 

and my whole mouth was numb

so, final try, i gargled minyak gamat and it was just slightly better.

my tongue (right at the very tip) was sore for a few days.. 

ouch!!

 ....

so i grated it (pic not included. i forgot to take a picute of the hard work i did, i shouldve) 

and grated some coconut milk on it, mixed it all up.

left it overnight or was it 2 nights.. 1 night i think 

then double boiled it, 

added some more oil in it since i had excess lye with the lye pockets and all 

and mixed it all.

i didnt know what a gelling looks like but i think i had it gelled..

so this is the rebatched soap , cut.

texture not bad..

the cut bars are definitely not of equal length or size..

 

whats the word to use..?

i didnt bang the mold hard enough.

it was coming out of the sides each time i banged it..

so theres holes in it.

it wasnt pourable..

i had to scoop it out of the pan.

still, a good size

but nice texture haa  ;)

6th CP!!

yeah i know 

i'm in a roll..

well, i gotta post this..

its been awhile and i dont wanna keep holding this off (the posting)..

nanti akan lebih banyak kerja kena buat kalau tangguhkan lagi.

so here is my 6th CP soap!!

i really like this one!!!

because of the colour hehehe

dan kulit manggis tu laa

apa lagi..

i cant wait to use this.. i like scrubby soaps..

menggaru-garu badan ketika mandi. 

best!!

this is another CP soap, so i gotta wait at least  for 4 weeks..

yes, i dont intend to wait more than that, i dont care

i should but i wont..

i dont have the patience to wait any time longer than 4 weeks..

:P

i tried to do many different swirls on this but in the end this is it..

colour is more profound in this pic (top)

pic a bit blurry..

it looks as if its drying.. not that wet..

 yes yes more wet (slightly) swirl pics..

i cant seem to get enough of wet (slightly) swirl pics..!

5th CP!!

please feast your eyes on my 5th CP soap.

i wanted it to look different from the previous soaps so its stripey!!

this one is Canola Oil, Olive Oil, Palm Oil, Sunflower Oil, Coconut Oil, Coconut Milk, NaOH, Grounded Almonds, Turmeric Powder, Activated Carbon Powder, Patchouli Essential Oil, Black Pepper Essential Oil & Sweet Orange Essential Oil..

as you can see the farthest one on the left is the biggest size.. 

i wanted to have 8 bars but somehow i ended with 6+ 1 giant!!

you can see the grounded almonds, not so grounded actually.. 

did end up with some slightly chunky pieces.. but this chunky is still not that chunky but still chunky, get me?

Soap, with scent..

i havent made any new soaps and before i say i need to make one soon....

i know, i had a post before saying the same thing.

m nak buat tapi macam tak complete je soap without a perfume.

i want a complete soap, with perfume.

with a smell that lingers on your body, at least for 2-3 minutes after your shower..

or

after you've scrubbed dry with a towel, you can still smell the scent on your skin!

i went out and searched for essential oils yesterday.. 

i found out that some are really cheap and some are very expensive. 

i assumed because the process of obtaining them is tedious/difficult/plain test-your-patience kinda process.

and also because some are the 'base' and some are just 'top' notes.

'base' notes are the ones that holds the smell together and you can smell it forever and ever!

meaning: the scent stays longer than the 'middle' or 'top' notes.

these are expensive oils!

but i can get it real cheap!!

at RM 19.90 per bottle (without discount mind you). 

so you can imagine the price with a discount. 

wow, there goes my budget! 

you tend to..

I tend to buy more when it costs less.. 

same right?  you too... haha!

example: patchouli, a base note.

i can get it at RM 30 per bottle under brand A 

and brand B sells it at a hundred
or was it more?

point is, i need to know whether the RM 30 is of the same quality as the RM 100. 

how will i know?

well, i just googled.

there is a possibility that the RM 30 is not of a good quality than the RM 100. 

in this case - OBVIOUSLY!!

price does not determine quality, in some cases.

EO, i guess, is a special case. 

the price does determine quality..

sigh

well, i dont know how that particular company made the EO.

did they use fresh herbs/flowers or 

did they use old rotting dry ones?

how would i know? 

buy different brands of EO and test it on my soaps directly? 

??

well, that is the only way i could think of now.

My 3rd Cold Processed Soap =)

this is my 3rd CP soap.

made it on the same week as the other two, actually..

nice kan..

for the ingredients, i used same oils as the 2nd CP soap.
but this time i added turmeric powder and grounded black peppercorns
and Black Pepper EO and Orange-Sweet EO.

need to buy an EO for the base note!!

i did not take a picture of it just after i pour it into the mould!!!

because now the bright colours has faded.

the pale cream section you see below was actually orange at the time of pouring

because i added turmeric powder into the mix.

it was a beautiful bright orange....

alas!

I've cut it into 4 rectangular bars..

and lastly cut into 8 bars, like the previous one..

feast your eyes with my lower-than-amateur photos..

of course i have to upload many photos..

one is just not enough!! 

 

 

do ignore the sawdust on the soap.. i was doing some woodworking after..hehe

have to practice on my swirls!!

i added freshly grounded black peppercorns

that, unfortunately, turned into those brown spots as you can see in all the photos..

 so, i have to contain myself from using fresh items in my soap or it'll end up like this again!!

tak nak ah, nanti tak chantek kan..

i was thinking that the peppercorns could be a scrubbing tool embedded in the soap

mana nak tau yang dia nak kembang lak!!

well, 2 weeks to go!!

then we'll find out if it scrubs well!!
