Natural Colouring for CP Soap..

m in the midst of finding natural colorants for my soap.

the only one I could use, commonly found here is turmeric.

pandan is available but to get the colour (green/hijau) is tiresome.

m dh tak ingat sangat cemane m wat tahun lepas.

rasa-rasanya cam ni kut - 

m potong kasar, campur dengan air dan blend, pastu perah.

m rasa m nak carik stevia lah.

kalau ada dalam bentuk serbuk senang la nak source out kaler hijau.

for your info- the google search have included stevia as a possible green.

hmm..

note to self and others reading..

the green from pandan doesnt last for a year.

that means the soap should be used within 6 months or less.

not meant to be kept forever okay..

black/hitam, m dah beli activated charcoal.

banyak lagi ada. tak abis-abis lagi ha hitamnya.

purple/ungu/biji remia, is currently an adventure.

some are using Alkanet, Ratanjot, Stoneseed/Gromwell.

the search was interesting.. still is, actually.

red sandalwood is too hard to find and 

if I’m not mistaken, will be expensive.

sandalwood ialah cendana, by  the way. 

some websites are stating that it can produce a purple/red coloured soaps.

annatto is another natural colouring and 

the local pokok is kesumba.

this could produce the colour orange..

yes, these searches for natural colouring has gotten me searching for local trees/shrubs/etc.

i have yet to get bunga telang.

this is for the colour blue/biru.

if it can be used on soaps.

so far, I’ve read that this is used to colour our Kelantanese dish, Nasi Kerabu.

paprika for red/orange.

dok ingat paprika tu cili macam cili biasa yg kering.. 

rupa-rupanya capsicum.

i don’t really know my way in the kitchen–cooking-wise, 

i have to admit that at least..

;)

still, i have to find powdered ones.

takkanlah m nak beli the whole fruit and dry it and blend it myself.

maaf, m rasa m tak serajin tu.

tapi doa-doakanlah m jadi rajin 

dan mampu buat kebanyakan perkara sendiri ye,

Update for soap.

haritu m dah tulis post baru. 
tapi bila tengok preview, beberapa ayat jadi bentuk kotak2 warna putih, 
ayat tak nampak langsung!
m cuba copy paste pun tak jalan.
jadi lahirlah sebuah post baru!!

i wanted to tell you about my red bean soaps, 
my pandan+carbon soap with the heart red bean soap embedded on top, 
but since it couldnt come out nice, 
i'm going to add another story, 
my swirly carbon soap that didnt make it because the lye did not mix thoroughly with water.

i made some red bean soaps right, 
i made 2 batches, the first batch, the red bean paste wasnt that fine 
so i'm guessing there is a possibility that it might be rotten
but not yet so far..

the second batch, i made the red bean paste finer.

but for both, i cut them too late resulting in a crumbly bottom upon cutting..

part of the 2nd batch, i poured into this heart shaped moulds.

in the 3rd batch, i poured into heart mold as well..

wait a minute, now i'm not sure if i had a 3rd batch... 

well, for all the red beans soaps i've made, 
i have yet to use them on me.. 
=)

i wanted to make a wedding gift for  a friend 
i think her them was dirty rose + moss green

that was why i used red beans for the dirty rose colour.

then, after about a month break of no soaping, i made pandan soap, 
the idea was to place the red bean hearts on top of the green one 
this was the plan lah!!

i made the pandan one but instead of 2, i made 3 colours. 
Pandan and carbon bottom base plus the embedded rose hearts.

it was wowwwiiieeeee!

bukan nak angkat bakul sendiri but its an achievement and i love it

its not that often kan tengok hasil kerja tangan sendiri yang menarik nih..

unfortunately for me, when i added the hearts i didnt adjust the position properly.

want to know why?
gonna tell you anyway pun kan...

because i was in a hurry to watch Game of Thrones!! 
it was the 2nd last episode (i thought it was the last episode okay) 
i did miss about 5-10 minutes worth of story okay. 
NOT good.

So, my hearts were almost all over the place and when i cut, it was even worse.
m talking about my red bean soap hearts okay..
it wont make sense if i was talking about my own heart 
coz it'd be heart iso heart(s).

i made it in a slab mould 

i did not use the dividers because if i did, it wont be straight. 
i think because the dividers are too long..

so, i cut it! i cut the soap with a parang!

it was sooooooo uneven! not good!

then just a few days ago, i tried making my carbon soap, 
i was running out of it so i had to make new ones.

ingatkan boleh la jual (angan2 yang tak menjadi) bila dah siap tapi lain pula ceritanya.

the lye didnt dissolve in water, resulting in lye spots all over my soap.

i've cut it into cubes, (instead of grating), lazy i know!!
i put them in the oven just last night, but nothing happened. 
maybe the temperature was too low..

so now m in the process of rebatching.. will update!

Its been awhile..

been busy at the office, googling recipes for soaps, drooling over images of soap.. 

but not having (ehem..making) the time untuk buat satu soap pun!!

sebenarnya, tak jugak..

I did, last month, not a CP soap, just an MP soap. 
m masih ada MP yang m perlu habiskan.. lazy!!!

i tried making the chunk soap but i totally used the wrong colours.. :(

full story.. incoming...!

mixed clear MP base with 15 ml of aloe vera (isi jernih yang diblend) with 10ml of VCO and 5ml of honey or was it more. tak ingat lah, tapi memang m letak sume tu.

divide it to 3, 
one with pandan colour 
(real pandan blended with water to get the colour okay!),  

  
another with turmeric 

 and the final one remain colourless.

i havent used it so tak tau la if the turmeric pigments will stain your skin..
meaning kulit berkemungkinan bakal jadi kuning.. 
ala kalau ye pun, sikit je kut, no harm, its just kunyit! 
bukannya artificial colouring pun..
dan memang ada juga masa-masanya kita sental kulit kita dengan kunyit pun kan.. 
bila pergi sesetengah spa atau sendiri buat kat rumah.. 
(tapi rasa-rasanya tu kunyit hidup kut..) 
apa-apapun..point utamanya kunyit hidup atau kering, dua-dua leh jadi kuning.

well, yes, back to the colour combination used..

the pandan and turmeric was made into chunks 

and the clear MP is colourless laa.. haha

no, clear MP not made into chunks. not made into anything yet..
i left it in the pot biar dia keras
sebab m tengah buat yang 2 kaler tu dulu. 
later baru m cairkan balik dan...

poured the clear MP into a tupperware and dumped the chunks inside 
so as it turned out, since they are all clear abislaa colour tu.. !!?!
tak nampak sangat kaler hijau biru (from the pandan) and golden orange tu (turmeric)..

sedih! 
m patut guna white base 
and then dropped the chunks in, should be beautiful..

but dont fret, 
i still have the chunks available, 
just need to 'make' time to melt the white base in..

maybe i'll do that soon...

Trial MP Soap

I didnt do much research on the license thingy yet..

takde masa pun nak menyelongkar web today!!!!

(padahal dulu dah selongkar dah. nak kena ingat balik kat mana dapat je.. )

Busy @ work! Which is good. Makin banyak kerja jadi kurang la nak menyonteng2 kertas2 recycle kat ofis tu kan. (this will be a different story)

Not so nice pix but let's see what we have ..

This is my 1st MP, i think the colouring and the fragrance made it hard too fast.

Let's call it the Cupcake Rainbow MP. Many fragrance and many colours. 

OK la nama Cupcake Rainbow tu =)   walaupun 3 kaler jerrw.

m rasa 1st try ni cantek k. 

Bukan nak puji diri sendiri tapi sapa lagi nak puji. 

minggek laaaa kaaaann.

Next, is also my 1st attempt but with a different mould. 

M jumpa la bekas buat kuih bangkit kut. 

Mould was plastic and totally not flexible.

Punyalah susah nak bok-kuar sabun MP nih!!

Nak tak nak kita korek laa kuar =) 

I dont remember pun how I took it out!! 

Chup! Chup!! 

I took it out with a knife!

Poke on it and somehow peel it off the mould. 

So the soap didnt look as nice although I think i made 6 of it. 

(As I did have 1 mould that holds 3.) 

So 2 moulds x 3 equals 6. Easy math right  =) heheh

Yang ni namanya Orkid sebab rupanya sebijik cam orkid. 

kalau tengok dari dekat u tau laa.

tapi the pix tak do the item justice laa.

yang paling terang gambar no 4 tu. 

tuuuu, yang m letak depan lampu tu. yang tu nampak la design orkid dia kan  =)

the black specks you see is the colouring yang tak berapa nak larut dlm MP tu.

probably coz m letak too much. but not bad. nampak artistik =) heheh

 kan leh nampak macam rainbow cupcake jgak kan.. ada 3 kaler..

 yang ni nampak hijau dia kan, rainbow lain tak nampak sangat.

Pandan+Rose MP

Yang ni lak, m nye 2nd attempt with the MP. 

nampak macam makanan yang merangsang deria rasa kan.. +)

  Kali ni, m nak go au-naturel gitu. Jadi m letak warna daun pandan and somehow manage to letak aloe vera gel yang ORIginal tu. m adalah jgak letak the tiniest bit of daun pandan yang diblend.

Rupa dan rasa sebijik macam agar2. ala u tau, jelly.  :p

Cuma keras la kan..

eh, bukan rasa, bau  =)

m tak makan sabun lagi, belum mula untuk merasa pun lagi. 

(yet to do the zap test as i have yet to start making my own handmade soap.) 

=)

M tuang dalam tupperware plastik kecik dan itulah hasilnya..

yang kaler merah tu balance 1st attempt haritu 

so m tabur la kat atas kasi nampak cantik sikit.

nampak cam kuih kaler putih dan atas dia bawang goreng tu kan.. 

apakename ntah, tak ingat lak. sedap jugak kuih tu kan.   =)

alaaa, yang rasa cam susu/santan/lemak pastu bawang goreng yang crunchy kat atas..

mmm.. yummyyy...

Stamping

I'm in the midst of learning to stamp my pix. 

ada yang nampak complete, ada yang tak.

besar sangat kut original file dia.. pasni kena kecikkan sikit. 

we learn from making mistakes kan..    ;)

tapi nak tau tang mana nak rectify tu payah sikit.

back to stamping, 

(selalu ajerr tukar tukar topik kan.. ish, favourite laa tukar2 topik nih. kalau jauh sangat pegi, nak patah balik ke topik asal is also a journey tau. we can talk about anything, ANYTHING!!)
